The Dispersed Rack Bag is designed for quick layer changes. Undo one buckle and you have access to the bag. We constructed the bag to hold its shape whether full or empty, because no one wants a floppy bag when you’re wearing all your layers. The webbing along the bottom of the bag allows for use with a wide range of racks. One main strap holds the bag to the rack and the included 6″ nano Voile straps secure the corners.
The bag features an angled front profile for seat clearance and a rear light mount. It weighs about half a pound and comes in any color you’d like!
Compatibility:
We’ve tested this on racks with 3″ spacing between rails (Mica Rat Tail rack) up to 5″ spacing between rails (Tumbleweed Pannier rack, Salsa Alternator rack). The 4″ spacing between the webbing on the bottom works well with anything in this 3″-5″ range. The 6″ nano Voile straps are long enough to go wider if necessary. Shown below installed on a Salsa Alternator rack (5″ spacing between rails).

- We prefer packing a separate dry bag off the bike. This also allows you to quickly remove the contents of your bag and take them into your shelter without getting anything wet.
- A separate inner dry bag allows you to separate wet items from dry items. Dry gear can go inside the dry bag, and wet gear can live next to it inside the outer bag. We use this functionality if our tarp or bivy is wet and we need to put it away before drying it.
- Even with heavy duty bags, dry bags exposed to the trail can develop small holes that compromise waterproofness. With an outer protective layer and inner waterproof layer, your gear is more likely to stay dry. *Dry bag not intended for submersion.
