The hat is made of nylon in the middle, with polyester mesh panels on the side. It's breatheable, comfortable, lgihtweight, advertised as 50+UPF and it has a Stay-Dri sweatband. The bill of the hat is also flexible. My purchase had been shipped in a box, which was unexpected and, at the same time, a preferable method of delivery. Just know that the dispersed sticker that is included might be hiding inside and under the cardboard. Don't throw it away! I'm very happy with the hat, mostly for the logo, but rest assured, the hat itself is a good make. t. Jim Hawkins
